ARE YOU INTERESTED IN TRAINING TO BECOME A QUALIFIED PRIMARY OR SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHER WITH PGCE STATUS?
ARE YOU A UNIVERSITY GRADUATE?
ARE YOU IN THE FINAL YEAR OF YOUR DEGREE?
OR ARE YOU THINKING OF A CAREER CHANGE INTO TEACHING?
The Bitterne Park Teaching School Alliance is a growing partnership comprising a diverse range of primary and secondary schools across Hampshire and Wiltshire which present dynamic and exciting training possibilities for those wishing to pursue a career in teaching. Our School Direct training programme is delivered in partnership with the University of Southampton and combines the best elements of a traditional university-led PGCE training model with the benefits of a school-centred approach. The University of Southampton has a long-established record of excellent initial teacher training, and successful completion of our course will lead to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with the opportunity to gain 60 Masters level credits.
Training with us means you will receive a comprehensive induction at the start of the course, a progressive training programme delivered throughout the year, and a second school placement in a contrasting school. Throughout the programme, you will be supported by a highly skilled and trained curriculum mentor, a professional mentor and a university tutor.
BURSARIES AND SCHOLARSHIPS OF UP TO £28000 ARE AVAILABLE WHILE YOU TRAIN TO TEACH, DEPENDING ON YOUR SUBJECT CHOICE
We are offering secondary teacher training places in art & design, biology, business, chemistry, computing, dance, design & technology, drama, English, geography, history, mathematics, modern languages, music, physical education, physics and religious education starting in September 2018.
