PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Course:
Physical Education is a compulsory National Curriculum subject and it is therefore essential that pupils participate throughout Years 10 and 11.  All activities will require correct physical education uniform and training shoes (with the exception of football where we recommend that studded footwear replaces training shoes).


The course will be taught in double lessons and will consist of a series of options.  There will be a varied programme including some off site activities.

Assessment:

The National Curriculum end of Key Stage 4 attainment targets will be used as the main criteria for assessment and will be supported by a Bitterne Park School Certificate of Achievement.  These lessons are not intended to prepare pupils for external examinations but will support the work of pupils who select the GCSE Physical Education course as one of their choices.
