The learning Support Department offers support to a range of students in a variety of ways. The Department prides itself on its flexibility and expertise in supporting students with special educational needs in the school. The Department operates an open door policy where pupils, parents and staff are made to feel comfortable when support or expertise is required.
The support offered includes:
- Integrated Studies Curriculum
- In-Class support
- Literacy withdrawl modules
- Social skills groups
- Nuturing groups
- Creative Arts and Cognitive groups
- Study room for pupils on part-time timeables
- Adaptation of class work
- Access arrangements for internal and external exams
- Lunchtime homework/social club
The department consists of five learning support teachers, a higher level teaching assistant and 20 teaching assistants.
