Catering Challenge

SECONDARY SCHOOL CATERING CHALLENGE WITH HAMPSHIRE CRICKET IN THE COMMUNITY.

Year 9 gifted and talented and Skills Centre students were asked to design a healthy meal for the cricket team to eat before a home game next season. The meal had to be full of good healthy food but provide the players with energy and fill them up!

Three students recipes were picked by a panel of judges to cook at the final on Tuesday 18th November against students from other schools.

Finalist included:

Chicken Kiev with honey glazed parsnips and mashed potatoes by Sara Cepele and Renne Servin.

Chicken with ham, spinach and pine nuts by Jakub Cynarki.

Salmon and Leek Parcels with roasted sweet potato wedges by Daisy Collins.

The judging panel consisted of the Ageas Bowl Head Chef and players from the Hampshire Cricket team who had the hard decision to pick the winning meal. Everyone worked extremely hard and produced amazing plates of food each worthy of winning. It was a very close call with Jakub Cynarki being crowned the winner.
